Our Story

Sana'a British School is a non-profit making organization managed by a Board of Governors, who is responsible to the Parent body regarding the quality of education provided by the School. H.E, the British Ambassador, is the patron of the school and the embassy is represented in the Board of Governors. Members of the Board of Governors serve on a voluntarily for a period of two years.

Sana’a British School provides a quality education based on the British National Curriculum, for students of many different backgrounds and nationalities.
We have a strong family bond towards our school and children. Our students of all ages and nationalities demonstrate care and respect towards each other.

In Yemen, we are the only school offers education from ages 3 to 18 on one campus. Core Subjects are: English, Mathematics, Science, ICT, Holy Quran, Islamic Studies, Arabic. Foundation Subjects are: History, Geography, Art and Crafts, Music, Physical Education. Also, Arabic (as a First and Second Language), French (Modern Foreign Language to IGCSE). Business Studies is also taught to IGCSE and A Level students. After-school activities include: Art and Crafts, Computers, Soccer, French, additional Arabic, Tennis, and Swimming. All teachers are qualified; many are recruited from the UK and have extensive international teaching experience in British Curriculum Schools.

What are the student admission requirements?
The admission process requires the following documents:•    School registration form•    Original certificates of the previous grades•    Birth certificate•    Vaccination Card•    6 photos of the student (White Background)•    A copy of the father’s ID or passport
Does the school have social workers?
Yes. The school has a social worker who contributes to the mental health and behavioral concerns of the students.
How many Parent-Teacher Conferences are there throughout the academic year?
The school administration arranges for 3 Parent-Teacher Meetings in which the student report cards are given out and the performance of each student during the term is discussed with the parent.
Does the school have extra-curricular programs?
Yes. There is a wide range of indoor and outdoor extra-curricular activities that are designed to promote the personal development of our students.
Does the school provide transportation?
No. The school does not provide transportation, however, a transportation company is available and the chaperons are school staff members to ensure security.
Is the school recognized internationally?
Yes. Sana’a British School is a member of BSME which supports a network of high quality British international schools in the region.
What are the class sizes?
A class contains up to 15 students with an assistant in each class of both the foundation and primary sections.
What are the teacher qualifications?
We have highly qualified and experienced teachers holding bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and PhD degrees.
